The Company

SafeTorque is a dependable service-oriented organization providing state-of-the-art overload protection at an affordable price.

SafeTorque represents more than 25 years combined technical experience in mechanical overload protection equipment.

SafeTorque has strategically located sales offices throughout the United States committed to customer service.

Operating Principle

SafeTorque uses an adjustable spring force to apply pressure on a series of drive balls trapped between a driving and drive plate. In an overload condition, when and only when a preset torque value has been exceeded, the rolling movement of the drive balls will separate this plate set and disengage the input from the output side of the drive. Optional mechanical or electronic switches should be used to detect the torque limiter's release, signal an operator and/or shut down the drive, as soon as possible.

WHY USE SAFETORQUE ?

The ability to protect today's expensive automated equipment is essential for profitability. can accomplish the following:

  • REDUCE or ELIMINATE expensive spare parts inventory
  • REDUCE labor costs for maintenance or repair
  • REDUCE production downtime
  • PROVIDE a more efficient operation

One disengagement, due to a jam, will justify SafeTorque

Most machinery is susceptible to overloads or jams which can result from:

  • Worn machine parts
  • Broken machine parts
  • Lodged production pieces
  • Foreign objects
  • Operator error
  • Manufactured material build-up

When any of the above occurs, many components in a machine may experience loads in excess of their original design limitation. Whether or not the additional load is a slow build-up or a sudden torque spike, the weakest point in the system is subject to breaking in order to release the damaging inertia. When SafeTorque is properly applied and installed into a machine's drive train, no component in the drive will realize more torque than the normal operating torque. SafeTorque is designed for accurate and repeatable torque settings, even after hundreds of disengagements. The results -- minimal downtime and no unnecessary machine maintenance.
